'Been at it for a while and can't get notifications to appear on my 396...
Bluetooth settings show phone is connected for audio... So when I use another phone to send a text, the 396 emits an audio notification, but... No pop-up.
Is there some secret hidden setting I'm missing..?
Phone is a Samsung A54

Thanks

Welcome to the forum @ZUMfjr .

What software do you use on the phone for the 396. Is it Garmin's Smartphone Link ?
You usually have to select the setting on the phone for the app that you use - and you can control which type of message is passed to the Zumo.

It's a while since I used SMartphone link, but if it is that I can reinstall it and check it out with my 595 - which is probably similar.
Unless someone else pops up with the answer before hand. (I hope !)

Yes,
Smartphone Link is the app...
It must be something I'm doing, or not doing because I've searched the forum and haven't found any mention from other having issues

If it is the same as the 595 - which is likely then onced your phone is paired with your Zumo and you have the smartphone link showing on the list of Bluetooth Device options - a sort of upright aerial - then you can set up notifications on the Smartphone Link app on the phone:

From the screen with the icons in large square boxes - there are two screens - swipe left/right to see the other. Select the Gear icon top left on either screen.

One of the options in there is Notifciations. TAp that it takes you to the notifcations section of your phone. Scroll down the list to find SmartPhone Link and turn Notifications ON.

Then back out of notifications to get back tot he settings screen. Smart Notifications is now ON. Underneath is a settings menu - mine says 'Choose Apps and Categories to get notifications'. Select that . There are a whole load of apps that are installed on your phone. Most turned turned off. Select the ones that you want to be sent to the Zumo. I just have Messages and phone turned on.

Be careful what you choose, or your zumo will be inundated with notifcations.
Nb - you will note on the Zumo that another icon has appeared in the BT settings. A phone with a message box attached.

Let us know how you go on.
