Adding Start Dates & Times to Routes

Hi All,

I used to have a Zumo 340LM, and I created my routes using BaseCamp. When planning routes, I could assign a scheduled start date and time, and these would show up on the device as scheduled routes.

I’m now using the Zumo XT2 with Tread, and I’m struggling to find out how to set a scheduled start date and time for my routes in the same way.

Can anyone help?

That option disappeared a good while back, but the earlier versions still accepted and responded to the time and date of the start point being included in routes from Basecamp. Setting a date and/or time was one of the ways that it was possible to control the order in which routes were listed. One version (I think the 595) listed the routes in a sort of date order - putting the expired routes at the bottom and future routes at the top with the closest date first.

However - setting the time was available on all of the zumos that I currenly own - except the XT2. So that is the 590, 595 and XT1

Trip Planner -> Saved Trips -> Select the route/trip -> select the spanner / wrench tool top left corner ->Edit schedule
Select the via point (eg start, end, intermediate via), select the time.

The facility is not available on the XT2 - not that I can find.

I don't know where your device fits in the chronological order of Zumos - but certainly after the 590 and before the XT2 - so you may well find the facility in the same place. WHether your device shows signs of recognising the date (in the way that it orders the list of routes) - I don't know. But it is possible because on computers, date and time are stored together in the same single number.

Don't know how to do it also, but if you have a layover at a waypoint, then that seems to get transferred to the XT2 if you do it by cable. Using Tread to transfer it may be different.

Tread strips out a lot of info from gpx files leavng just the visible route points and nothing else - from the few times that I have looked.
