Are you sure that it's CN EU 2027.10 and not EU Adventure Roads & Trails 2027.10 which I can only install onto my XT's and not onto my 590?
The EU Adventure Roads & Trails seems to show a base map and footpaths when I look at it in my locale in Basecamp.

What maps does your XT2 have on it after the update?
Mine has Europe Roads & Trails 2027.10 and CN 2026.30.

CN Eur 2026.30 was only 7-8 Gb, You screenshot shows 17Gb
Either the map size has increased a lot (not likely), or it is something else

2027.10 is appearing as 'EU Adventure Road & Trails' on the XT2 screen when installed.
2026.30 is the latest for CN Europe NTU: All North, All South and POIs
------------------
Curio - the other day I was answering a question for Jimio on this site. In order to make things clear, I plotted a route in Basecamp in Ohio, so that he could observe the behaviour that I was describing on his XT1. I'm in the UK, so I don't have USA maps on my XT1. I have USA maps on my PC for Basecamp - courtesy of my XT2, which comes with a licence for maps of many parts of the world. But I could not see the maps that I was sending him on my own XT1.
I had inadvertantly left on the setting for automatic updates on my XT2, and when I turned on my XT2 this morning, it said that it had updated the maps. I didn't know why it had updated the maps. It turns out that it has installed just 2 sections of the USA map. I had not downlaoded the GPX routes for Jimio onto my XT2, and my XT1 doesn't have a licence anyway.
The only conclusion that I can draw is that my Garmin account knows from my XT1 that it needed maps in order to draw the maps for Jimio on the XT1. It couldn't install them because I do not have a licence for USA maps on the XT1. Subsequently when I turned on my XT2, it recognised the same account name and installed the relevant maps. Sure enough - when I put my test route for Jimio onto my XT2 - the necessary maps USA maps were already there !!

The EU adventure roads and trails certainly gobbles up the storage area on my XT2, especially as I already had the Africa maps on, and got them as well. Doesn't seem to be an option, so far of downloading it onto my PC.
A screen snip of my XT2 in Basecamp showing what the new mapping shows, and how CN EU NTU 2026.30 is still there.

The bottom left hand pain in the screen shot shows the file d8526120a.img as being the one that corresponds to the highlighted map in the list above
- CN EU NTU 2026.30
So should you want to remove that map from your Zumo, then delete that file from the map folder. - .System/map/d8526120a.img
(and normally, any other file with the same prefix)

Subsequently when I turned on my XT2, it recognised the same account name and installed the relevant maps.
I am suppressing a rant about this behavior. Suffice it to say that an installation or update of anything without explicit approval should not be a consideration for developers. Even when an auto-update option is enabled there should be a prompt for update approval, with the option to decline and manually update later if desired.
