Transferring tracks from my pc issues

Well, I posted a question regarding transferring tracks to a Mac and found out what I have to do with that. But, now I'm having trouble with my PC...I can drag and drop or copy and paste tracks created on my computer directly into the GPX folder on the internal storage. I can do the same directly to the memory card. (and then open them on the computer and it shows those files are ther) When I go to apps, then tracks, then hit the wrench icon, says 'track options', hit import, but they aren't there to select. I did notice I have alot of old files that are available to import, is it possible there's too many there? I can't figure out how to delete them if thats the case. I'm old and this is driving me nuts!
I obviously need help in a bad way....
Thanks!

When you copy to the SD card are you putting them in a Garmin/GPX directory, or a subdirectory of the Garmin/GPX directory?

Also, all routes and tracks on the SD card will remain available for import until you use a file explorer to delete the files. Hint, when you copy files to the SD, give them a meaningful name so that you know what routes/tracks they contain. You can create subdirectories in the Garmin\GPX directory which allow you to store routes and tracks for specific trips or intentions (eg: Garmin\GPX\Local rides, Garmin\GPX\Montana trip, Garmin\GPX\Key West trip).

I've tried both. Both will show in the directory when checked on my PC....

Even though they show up on the SD card, they don't show up When I go to import...
And can I delete files from the "import" file on the Garmin?
Thanks!

If the copied .GPX file is somewhere inside Garmin\GPX on the SD and track import does not find what you want then I wonder if perhaps the .GPX file you copied does not contain a track. Have you tested this specific one by transferring it to internal storage and then attempting an import?

No. The Garmin XT will not modify or delete anything on the SD card, it will only import from it.

I'm about ready to pitch this thing. I went into the Zumo and on my computer and deleted every GPX file that was anywhere. Completely cleaned out. Internal storage and memory card, every subfolder I checked. When I was done there were no tracks in the Garmin tracks file, and no files to import.
So i transfer files into the GPX folder in internal storage, nothing shows up in imports. Then I transfer the files directly into the memory card, still nothing shows up.
What??

In your initial post you said that old tracks were available for import which rules out a failure of the import function. That leaves file handling or the file itself. Are you using the same GPX file with each test? If so, perhaps there is something wrong with that file. Have you tested with a known good file, a .GPX that you have used to do an import in the past?

Also, I suggest testing the import by copying only to Internal Storage or only to the SD card. AFAIK, if the import function finds the same route or track in both places it only lists it once. There is no way to tell whether it is importing from internal or from the card.

Thanks for your help so far! I tried internal storage, that didn't work. I deleted them, then tried the card, and didn't work either.
I transferred several files at the same time, and verified these files work. ( I used GPX studio )

I'm confused. Your first sentence said that neither internal nor the card worked then you said the transfer of several files DID work. Again, if it is only a single file that is failing then the problem is with that file. I can't help with that.

FWIW, all of my routes and tracks originate from Basecamp. Routes sent to me by fellow riders first get imported in Basecamp for review before being going to my XT, normally via export to my HD and then copy to the SD card.

Sorry for the confusion. In the beginning, SOME files did show up on the Zumo, but were totally random. That's what led me to clean it all out. After I did that, My Zumo showed no tracks available, and when I went to import there were no files to import.
So, then I tried transferring to GPX in internal storage. They will show up as being there on my computer, but the Zumo shows nothing to import.
I deleted these, and transferred them to my card. They will show up as being there on my computer, but the Zumo shows nothing to import.

Seems like something internal is screwed up. Is there anyone that "refurbishes" these?
