Problems with CN NA NT 2026.30

I just installed CN NA NT 2026.30 to my PC. Basecamp would not display it until I toggled to 2026.20 the back to 2026.30. Once displayed, a lot of detail is missing (my neighborhood streets for instance). I plan to uninstall/reinstall to the PC when I have time (hopefully later today). I'll report back then. Please post about your experience with this map and Basecamp.
Edit: I just found that the map is locked. Basecamp startup displays an "unlock map" prompt but the map does not get unlocked. Hmmm...

Locate the *.GMA files on your device and copy to your PC. Alongside the map files (Garmin\Map or .System\Map or similar)
Use JavawaGmtk to install those onto your PC

I had no issues installing 2026.30 on my XT and PC. I used my 7.26 version of Express, because I'm re-testing my theory that many of the Express updates only exist to benefit new devices. Maybe at some point I'll be forced to update Express, but not yet. Meanwhile, I refuse the offer to update. Don't cancel the offered update immediately, wait a few seconds before hitting the button or Express will crash.
The map update proceeded normally. Install to the XT, reboot the Zumo, install to PC. No mention of a locked map.
In Basecamp, I have not yet found any significant differences between 2026.20 and 2026.30. Looking at several areas, when I switch maps I detect no changes in the roads. The position of road names does shift, and businesses displayed at a given zoom level may be different (can't show them all without excessive clutter), but the businesses can still be found with a search.

Thanks Frank. I will try the uninstall/reinstall first.
@lkraus, I have stayed with GE 7.24 for the same reasons you have stayed with 7.26.
I have constantly struggled with Garmin program behavior being different if they're run as admin vs. not so that will be part of my troubleshooting once I can commit time to tackle it.

This was it, although not specifically "run as administrator", but multi-user PC and running as a user with standard privileges. I have ranted about this many times in the past so I'll restrain from another rant. Suffice it to say that if you login to your PC as a user with standard privileges then try to install the map, the map installation process invokes UAC which requires admin authentication. The map then installs but is unlocked only for the Admin user. Same holds true if you start GE using "Run as administrator". You must elevate your PC user credentials to administrator then run GE and install the map. Garmin really needs their head out of their you-know-what about this. Oops, I ranted after all.

I've not encountered that map installation problem, probably because my everyday local user account is the administrator account.
Some other programs still do require 'Run as Administrator'. I hate the whole UAC nonsense since I think it is stupid to ask myself for permission to do what I just said I wanted to do.

But are you sure you really wanted to do it?
I provide support for a legacy email client whose developer really struggled with the UAC crap in regards to installing and upgrading the program on Win10 and Win11 OSes. Shockingly, of all his beta testers and support forum participants, I seemed to be the only one running my Win10 and Win11 PC's logged in as a standard user. He, a one-man-show developer eventually figured it out so Garmin developers certainly should be able to. Having done IT for a small business, I appreciate the protection UAC provides. Developers need to accommodate for it, especially ones as big as Garmin.
