Hi Guys.
Sorry if this has been covered before, I’m new to the Forum but cannot find anything on it.
I have a motorcycle mounted Zumo-595. It's a few years old and has always been quite good. In the past year however I have an error message every time I turn it on saying “Maps are corrupt and cannot be used. Go to www.garmin... etc to download latest maps”. It does still seem to work though.
I have obviously done as it says a number of times and also downloaded maps to my laptop but to no avail. The message still comes up every time. I am also using Basecamp and am doing a big European tour next year and am scared I’ll get half way round the Alps and the Garmin will pack in.
Would it be best to just wipe the whole Garmin unit of all software and start from scratch? If so could someone please talk me through how to wipe the maps clean and start again? Thanks in advance.

Re: Garmin 595 "Maps are Corrupt and cannot be used"
You can't just 'wipe all the software' as much of it is inaccessible to the user. Often the corrupt maps message is caused by third party maps, have you loaded any? You can run JaVaWa's Device Manager program to see what it says about the maps

Thanks for the reply. No as said I only use Basecamp. I'm pretty nieve about this type of thing I'm afraid.
As I also said it still seems to be working but I haven't tried a large route on Basecamp etc.
Has no one else had this message? Seems strange but maybe still OK.
