My XT has an intermittent problem with the Bluetooth disconnecting then sometimes, but not always, reconnecting.
It has been like this for quite a while.
Is the Bluetooth on the XT2 reliable or does that also have problems?

I have found the BT connection to be reliable on the XT and the XT2

But it can depend on where your devices are located.

I have seen some reports of issues near to TFT screens that are used on some bikes.
I have had issues with BT devices palced near the bikes ECU - the engine management system
Also - the connection with the phone needs to be sound. So I guess that close to the ignition coils or spark plugs are going to cause problems.

I currrently have issues with my BT mouse and keyboard - If the XT2 is plugged in, and is between my keyboard and the USB dongle (which it normally is), then I have a really excellent excuse for the number of spelling mistakes that I have been making. The keyboard works much slower than my fingers.

Those of us in the UK who are used to tuning in the early 1965 transistor radios to listen to pirate radio stations (broadcasting in the North Sea using weak transmitters on illegal frequencies) or Radio Caroline - will know all about the invisible waves emitted by certain devices that interfere with other radio signals.

Over many years of dealing with various Garmin GPS units, I have learned that their Bluetooth can be very temperamental. One trick that can help is to experiment with the order in which you power up paired BT devices. In general, powering up your XT last seems most likely to result in a reliable connection. Also, as you probably know, the XT likes (OK, demands) to be the hub, so for example, pairing a helmet comm system to your phone and to the XT will almost certainly result in random BT disconnects. Both should be paired to the XT and not each other.
