Audio Mixer question

Hi All,

I have a Zumo XT and a Cardo Packtalk Neo and I'm having a hard time getting the music and nav directions volumes sorted. Music is just loud enough (i have some military hearing loss and wear ear plugs too) but I can't hear the spoken directions.

I found the audio mixer on the XT - my question is - are the sliders "relative" or "absolute"? That is, if I set the music very low and spoken directions high - is that setting the direction volume high in relation to the music volume, or am I setting absolute volumes so the music will be low and the directions high?
Many thanks.

Bill

That is an excellent question. I stopped using spoken navigation awhile ago so I ended up with the Master volume set at 25% which is comfortable when testing inside. I rarely play music, but when I have, its volume has been low even though its mixer setting is maxed. I had never thought about a relative relationship with the Master setting but that could explain it. I hope someone has a definitive answer.

An assumption here is that the music source is the music player on the XT.

Thanks Peobody. Yes, the music is being played by the XT. I will try to do some testing once it stops raining here!

From my own limited testing - the "mixer" is a bit of a misnomer - as far as I can tell it's only providing three independant (not mixed) absolute volume controls - the sliders/adjusters do not change the volume of the items RELATIVE to each other - just independant absolute controls.
