Transferring data

As a result of damage to my original Zumo XT I have got a refurbished one from Garmin.

The original XT has a broken screen so I can't do anything more than power it up.

I have done a back up on Garmin Express and transferred all the data to the replacement one. However, whilst all the maps and routes have transferred it is not transferring any of the Favorites and History etc?

So this data is either not being saved during the Backup of the original damaged XT or it is not being transferred when I transfer to the replacement XT?

Can anybody advise. As stated, I am not able to do any more than just power up the damaged original XT.

Is there a specific way to transfer Favorites and History etc?

I haven't seen anyone mention that they have found where these are stored.

History - that just builds up as you access different routes, tracks, favourites and other locations. It will build up again as you use it.

Favourites - if you have the original GPX files of your routes - then you may be able to import the routes and they will become available again. Waypoints are often defined in the GPX file itself. Waypoints are the saved locations that get placed in Favourites on the XT.

If your GPX files are on the SD card, - the XT might not be able to import them. This is due to a software glitch, so you need to use a little trick:

Tap the map. A blue flag icon should appear. If it doesn't tap the map again.
Tap the small white box with a flag in it at the bottom of the screen. A white heart in a green box should replace the flag on the map.
You have just created a Waypoint - a Saved location.

Then it will look on the SD card for any more favourites:

Where To ? -> Favourites -> 3 bar menu. If that does not show 'Import' as an option, then tap 'All Favourites' and then 3 bar menu.
That will list all of the Waypoints that are defined in GPX files on the SD card.
Select All - or tick the ones that you want - and import.

nb - The GPX files onthe SD card have to be in a specific folder. If it isn't there, make it, and move your GPX files into it.
