Roads prohibited for motorcycles or temporarily closed

What experiences have you had with routes that include roads that are prohibited for motorcycles?
Or even where the zumo XT2 “only” suspects that they are prohibited for motorcycles?

I often wondered why the XT2 absolutely refused to take me where I had originally planned my shaping points. Or why I couldn't even set points where I wanted to in the Tread app or the XT2.
I verry often knew why (Except for a few findings that John already showed me).

Now I have a Tread 2, which is almost comparable, and the same thing happened to me.
But now Tread 2 suddenly showed me that there are roads where motorcycles are prohibited.
I was surprised but also pleased to see this information.
And now, if I switch the profile to automobile, which is possible with Tread 2 but not with the XT2, I can ride routes the way I wanted to before.

What are your experiences?
How do you recognize such motorcycle-prohibited sections?
Could this also be an explanation for why the shaping points of the Tread app are sometimes shifted so far?
(Slightly shifted shapes are probably “normal”).
Does your XT2 also recognize motorcycle prohibitions where you yourself do not recognize/suspect/know of any prohibitions?

When I started this thread, I was inspired by the following post also:
Oop North John wrote: Sat Aug 16, 2025 8:27 am Found out that the XT2 and Tread both prevent routing through a road that is closed due to it being time limited if you're between the closure times.
I was checking out routes in Tread from Fussen to the Dolomites via the Timmlsjoch pass and was getting some unwanted routes, until I worked out what was happening.
Road opening times here:

I thought it might be a good idea to start a separate thread here ;-)
Responses to experiences such as “prohibited for motorcycles” or “temporarily closed” are very similar.

I always look at: https://bvdm.de/aktuelles-und-veranstal ... perrungen/
@proofresistant You will have no trouble reading it!
For people not proficient with German. There are sites to translate. Goole Translate for example
https://translate.google.com/?sl=es&tl=nl&op=websites

Next I load them as POI's on my XT. Can be done with tripManager.

Thanks for the tips!
It's a good idea that I've had in mind longer also , to have such published closed routes, just like passes, on the navigation system :-) :-) :-)

However, especially in Germany, there has been an increase in smaller areas (that are subject to time restrictions also), which has led to negative experiences.
And also larger time-limited sections such as those mentioned by Oop North John and commented on by jfheath.

And also other areas that are excluded for whatever reason.
And that may reasons “ruins” the sharpening.

That the Tread app doesn't allow you to toggle on / off known times road closures is not helpful, especially as Basecamp does allow you to do it. The Tread app knew I was in the north east of Scotland, and still showed closures that would take me at least 22 hours non-stop riding to get to the closure.
