map update failure with Satelite internet

I get an error trying to update my Zumo with Garmin Express. I understand it no longer works with satelite internet.
If I purchase an updated map on a SD card is there any way to get the map installed on my PC so I can use it with Mapsource?

No. You can use the map with your Zumo connected to the PC via USB, and possibly by plugging the card into your PC, but you cannot copy or install the map to the PC. Also, Garmin maps on purchased as downloads or on SDcards cannot be updated - if you want a future update you have to buy the map again.

I would recommend trying OSM maps, which are often free and frequently updated. OSM Map On Garmin/Download has links to many sources.

I like the maps from openmapchest.org for my Zumo. They are updated weekly and the site has clear installation instructions. With a small donation to help support their server they can be downloaded directly, or they are free with a torrent client.

Thanks for the reply. I do have OpenMapChest maps on my Zumos and PC already. In fact I just made a donation and updated to their August map of my area. I think the OpenMapChest maps are as good or better than Garmins but because I share routes with riding friends who all use the latest Garmin maps on their XTs it would be nice to have the Garmin maps as well.
