Garmin has told me that from now on there will no longer be that option. They seem to want to separate Basecamp from XT2/Tread forever. It's a shame.

I don't know if it is still the same in 7.24, but the last release of 7.23 would ONLY install the map to the computer AFTER it was installed in the XT 1st.

a week ago i ran Express 7.24.0 and it updated new 2025.20 CN NA maps to the XT first, then after that was completed, I downloaded 2025.20 NA maps to my PC computer, updating maps on device and computer is a completely separate process now, the older Express used to have a button to update device & computer all at the same time, but that option is not available anymore, you have to do computer and device updates separately now. 8-)

It sounds like 7.24.0 is detecting a connected XT2 and not offering the install map to computer option. I don't see any logic in this. If the want to totally stop supporting Basecamp then why not remove it for all devices. If they want to discourage XT owners from upgrading to an XT2, well they're on the right path.

I cant find the option to separate load maps from XT2 to PC/BC in GExpress 7.24.00. I have tried twice without locate this option. Grateful for education if I am wrong. I downgrade GExpress to the old 7.23.00 and it works again.

Based on everything I have seen, Garmin Express 7,24.00 does not have the "Install to PC" option when an XT2 is connected. I am curious to see if anyone knows of any options other than sticking with Garmin Express 7.23.

By using a pre XT2 GPS that has the same mapping, for example a 590 / 595 or XT.
