Recent Update to Garmin Drive - and Smart Notifications

It has been a couple of months since I did anything serious with my Garmin XT and Drive. I've been busy playing with my XT2 and Tread.
The installation process has changed for Garmin Drive for the version that I downloaded today for my ipad - and the version for Android was also updated on 14 August. I don't know how recent these changes that I observed are though. I regularly deleted and downlaoded the Drive App in order to get rid / reinstate the link to Explore. The set-up process for Drive has changed since the last time - regarding the way that smart notifications are set up. It now asks the question during the initial start up process inastead of leaving it up to the user to find out.
On the Android phones, Smart notifications to the Zumo are controlled by the Drive App.
Iphone users have said a number of times that they had no control over what notifications were sent to the Zumo.
However on the ipad today, linking my XT2 to Tread I discovered the smart notification options available on the XT2 screen. So I repeated the process with the Drive App - same thing. Smart Notifications on the XT2 screen. So then I tested with the XT and the Drive App. It is on the XT screen as well.
In the Phone Section on the XT1 and XT2, click on the connection to the ipad/iphone, then Smart Notifications.
All of the options for notifications are on the zumo screen, all individually selectable:
Other, Incoming Calls, Missed Calls, Voicemail, Social Networks,
Calendar, Email, News, Health & Fitness, Business/Finance,
Location, Entertainment, Text Messages.
Apologies if this is old news for ipad users. But its the first time I have tried with my iPad. None of the comments I received from iphone users have indicated that the filtering of notifications is there on the Zumo screen. So maybe this will help them.
Below: Some of the Smart Notification options on the Android screen (left), and a few of the options from an Apple shown on the XT/XT2 screen (right)
Right - back to what I was really trying to do !!
