does anyone know if i can use the tread app on a Kindle?

i really don't know. Probably not if you cannot install it. I've never used a Kindle. I'm just posting a reply to bump your post !
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !

Although the Google Play store app description says the Tread App requires Android 9 or above it will not work on my Boox Go 10.3 e-ink tablet running Android 12. The Play store will not allow it to be installed.
I am able to install many other Play Store apps on the Boox including the Kindle App. My device is black & white or gray scale only and will reproduce photographic and other images quite well.
I have no access to the Boox color e-ink devices to test an install on them.
Not much utility in a b&w only version of the Tread App.
