Hi,

My Nav 5 has the annoying habit of emitting a high pitched bleep at random intervals over my helmet intercom, loud enough to seriously disturb me. Anyone know what causes this and more importantly how to stop it.
Many thanks

P S same effect on two different GS,s I have had

Sounds like you have either proximity alerts on or over speed warning turned on

What intercom? What phone (if any) connected?

A fellow on another forum had a Garmin that he used with his Sena 20S and iPhone. He was hearing frequent loud bleeps that he blamed on the Sena. I bought his 20S just for the cords and other parts for $10. It's been working perfectly for the past three years with my XT and Android phone - no bleeps.

Hi guys

I have gone into settings and switched off any alerts etc and will see if that makes a difference.
Bleeping occurred whether or not a phone was linked.
I'll report back (once it stops raining!)

Thanks

Peobody found and led me to the place for turning off school zone alerts. They still beeped when all other alerts were turned off. I can't recall how to get to the setting for it tho.

On my XT I would randomly hear a double-bong that I eventually figured out was associated with school zones. From what I could determine, this is a proximity alert with no way to turn it off. The best solution I could come up with was to reduce the volume of proximity alerts (Volume > Mixer > fourth item down).
