Michael, what's your secret to load CN NA 2025.1 to your Zumo 550. The latest maps Garmin allows me to load to my 550 is 2024.1. My understanding is the Zumo 550 will no longer be supported with new maps. Am I wrong about that?

When I plug my Zumo 550 into my PC and attempt to load new maps it will allow me to reload CN NA 24.10, but doesn't give me any more options for version 2024.2 or version 2025.1.

If there is a work around, any help you can provide this non-tech old man would be appreciated.
FRW - Are you getting this restriction when you use Express, or Mapinstall?

Just today I had my 550 connected for map updates and the last map I could access and activate was 2023.1 which I was able to do. Download to PC, and then use map installer to put it on SD card. Worked fine with no issues.
After 2023.1 it's my impression that the map data FORMAT(not size) is beyond what the 550 can function with.
Even if you can get a newer map file(intended for other Garmin devices) in the 550, Garmin won't have an unlock code available for the newer map that the 550 would recognize.
Just my opinion.

I'm getting this message when using Express while attempting to install NT 2025.1 to my Zumo 550. And, I just now tried using Mapinstall and received the same results. The most recent option I was given was NT 2024.1. I have NT 2024.2 and NT 2025.1 installed on both my PC and on my Zumo XT.

That may explain why I am having strange things happen on my Zumo 550 with NT 2024.1 maps installed. I had no issues loading these maps, but now as I am following my route the GPS will give me the message "off route" and will recalculate. The XT with the same route loaded does not give the off route message. As an fyi, I am very fussy about making sure my via points are dead on the road, not just close.

FRW. I can't explain what you are seeing. I have several GPS devices. I use a Nuvi 54LM to initially load the new maps to my computer.
Once the maps are on the PC, I use the process outlined in my earlier message, with map install loading the maps to the SD card.

As I stated in my other post, I loaded CN NA 2025.10 to the 550 with no issue, and it works fine. The CN NA map is not the same as an NTU map - If I understand this. Once you have loaded new maps to the 550, you might want to open your routes on the 550 and recalculate them.
