I just updated GE to 7.20.2.0 without any problems (I updated from a downloaded installation file).
I then used GE to update the map on my XT to CN NA NT 2025.1 without any problems.
I then attempted to install that map to my PC. What a PITA.

I do all Garmin installations and updates with my standard user privileges elevated to administrator. This has worked flawlessly since very early in my Garmin experience, until today. I spent the better part of the afternoon trying to get the maps installed to PC. I was finally successful by using "Run as administrator" when starting GE, even though I had been running GE with administrator privileges. I don't know whether this problem was caused by a change made by Garmin or by Microsoft. Each failure left a log file in the system temp directory with a filename in the form of MSI?????.LOG that contained the following single entry:
"Error 1925. You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation for all users of the machine. Log on as administrator and then retry this installation."

Conclusion: Run GE as the PC administrator when installing maps to the PC. I know that most of you already do this so this is for anyone running as user on their PC with administrator privileges like I was.

Exactly the same experience for me as @Peobody

I run Windows 11 PRO 23H2, build 22631.3296 (i.e. latest build with all updates).

On a Windows PC, you can create a shortcut on your desktop that opens the program that you want.
If you right click on the shortcut, select Properties, there is an option box available to run the program as administrator. Tick it.
From then on, whenever you run the program from the desktop shortcut, it will automatically run as administrator.

No need to remember to do it in future. I believe that the shortcut still works after Express has been updated.

Today, I discovered something really important. I found another way that doesn't work.

I upgrade by downloading then installing. If you do that, new start menu and desktop shortcuts are created.
