Hi,
I’ve been the proud owner of a Garmin Zumo 350LM for some years now, used for tours across the lumpy bits of Europe putting the routes in directly as we didn’t have room for a laptop and I never really got on with Basecamp. Then I was introduced to Tyre, subsequently superseded by MyRouteApp.
Then I bought a BMW R1200 GS fitted with the bloody awful Navigator IV. House move and pandemic limited touring so its shortcomings didn’t impact us much. Until this year’s tour where it caused much angst.
So, as of this afternoon, I’m the proud owner of a Zumo XT.
For touring duties I intend to use my iPad to create the daily ride route in MRA and load it via Garmin Drive using Bluetooth, process based on a post I found on this very forum (sorry, I forgot to not who it was who described the process). I’ve had a little trial run at doing it and, so far, so good.
Hopefully I’ll be able to pick up more tips and, hopefully, be of help to others at some point.
