Installing SD card

Post by sprint »

Have installed a 32GB micro SD card to my 346.

However, I do not see any detail that it is actually installed? Message did come up about did I want to Format it, which I said yes to but when connecting the unit to Express it still only indicated that I have 1.92GB free space?

Express doesn't read the space from your card.

As above. When you connect it to your pc, you should see the two different storage options.

Thanks for the replies.

Yes my PC does show the two seperate storage options, but it seems very strange that Express or the unit itself does not display this?

As Express just seems to display the original on-board memory, see attached, what happens when that memory space is exhausted as it is currently advising that I install more memory, which I have done?

When Express needs to use it then it will. You need to do nothing.

Note the message is you 'may' want to purchase a card. Personally I wouldn't install one, if it gets to the stage where Express needs one it will ask for one and give you the option to install a smaller subset of the map, should that be possible.

Thanks for the reply and advice about waiting until Express asks, rather than suggests, for additional memory.
