I believe that one is for older Intel based Macs rather than the later M1/M2 type Macs

See system requirements on the link I posted:

System Requirements:
Intel based Mac running OS 10.13 or higher. Users on older OS's should use BaseCamp 4.7.0 available here.
1024 MB RAM (2048 MB recommended)

On my pre-Intel iMac (2017 running OS 10.13.6) the new version definitely loads faster and draws maps faster. This may be a good sign that it will behave on the new Intel Macs.

Installed on my Mac Mini with Apple M1 Chip and so far works fine. Seems to load faster but maybe just dreaming. Will have to see if it will detect my Zumo XT now.
