Just a quick question.
Has anyone tried uploading the Official BMW dealer list into the Garmin GPS?
What happened?
Were there any unexpected side effects?
I would like to install the official BMW lists for the Nav VI onto my Garmin 396. However before doing so - I really do not want to destroy the GPS, before any long distance journeys.
Thanks for any advice etc.
Best regards

I've thought about doing such things here in The States but in the end always decide against it. The Garmin POI management is simply too unreliable and mostly out of date. To me, a good Google-capable smart phone is simple to use and much more effective for things like this.

On the Nav IV it placed a BMW sign on the POI screen, which then showed the closest BMW garage.
I was hoping to replicate it, of course the BMW POI list was not always accurate, but it did give a better selection than Garmin offered!

I've been making my own H-D Dealers for over 10 years and it is reliable and more accurate than even Google. The best part about having a backup to your Google is that when you need it and there is no cell data, you can still find the dealerships.rbentnail wrote: ↑30 Aug 2018 14:12 I've thought about doing such things here in The States but in the end always decide against it. Re: Official BMW Dealer List in 396
I bit the bullet, and decided that a software item would not damage the device!
I have installed the BMW Dealer Database without incident. It shows on the "Where to" with a BMW icon. (I have also installed the vehicle icons for my bike.)
To obtain it:
Go to: http://www.bmw-motorrad.com/com/en/equi ... rview.html
