Tried to download it to my 595 and it's kindly stripped out the 2019.1 maps, and throws an error up that it can't install them (the 2019.2) onto the GPSR!

What error? Just run Express again and you should be okay.

Also check if you have installed the latest version of Garmin express.

I'm sure that it is, but good idea. Downloaded the maps onto the PC so hopefully I'll be able to get them onto the 595 via Basecamp. As long as the error hasn't made the 595 an unrecognised GPSR.

I wouldn't recommend that. BaseCamp can only install the map, not all the other files that Express does, eg junction views

Currently all I have is the base map on my 595. Thanks for that reminder though.

Maybe Garmin Express didn't delete all parts of the old map leaving not enough space for the new one..

one of the things you can do is check with javawa device manager.
