Lost ability to change State

Post by 1pkraft »

Haven't used my RoadTech 660 (Harley branded). Uploaded the latest North American map update a few days ago and had a short trip planned on Sunday. I'm a Maryland (USA) resident and wanted to go to a location in Delaware, usually select Where To and then Address and the next screen says Select City or Postal Code in Maryland. The bottom bar has an option to change State or Country.

The bottom bar to change State or Country is missing. Any idea(s) on what happened or what file is missing? I've attached a file that shows my 660 and a friends with all working options.

Thanks

It looks as though it doesn't know where you are.

Check that it has got a satellite signal and has your vehicle positioned correctly on the map. You might need to go outdoors and wait a while before it gets a good location fix.
Once it has that, try again.

Today, I discovered something really important. I found another way that doesn't work.

What happens if you try the other two options?

Both units were outside and side to side. I'll double check signal strength on it when I get home this evening.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Sorry for the delay work has been a bear.

Both units side by side and both have full signal. One has all options to change state, etc the other one still only has spell city or search all.

It will allow me to input an address (city, street number and name) but returns with nothing found.

Is it possible on one you have different maps checked? If you have the Garmin CN map checked and another map covering the same area you'll get strange results.

Is you location showing properly on the map ?
Is the language / locale set correctly ?

Mine doesn't show 'State', but just 'Country' (its an XT though) - but that indicates that the features may be language / location dependendent.

After connecting both Zumos to a computer and looking at the files I could not determine any difference. Felt like was pulling my hair trying to figure this out.

As a last resort I did a factory reset and now everything is working. Of course I lost anything I had saved but all that is replaceable.
