Garmin Zumo XT OVER HEATING

Hi all I am hoping some one can help, just bought the Garmin zumo xt and when i charge it on the car charge lead the left hand side of the unit gets very hot.
Is this normal as i drive with the charge lead in because i may driving for 4-5 hours at a time.
I have been onto Garmin and i am being asked all sorts of question. Just thought i would people that use it as am waiting for Garmin.

Well, I'm not sure what your definition of 'hot' is but I have noticed that mine does get very warm when I have it in the bike mount and turned on.

Eletro-handyman cheers for your reply it seems these do heat up when plugged in. Very warm would be a better definition, will keep my eye it. Once again thank you for your reply.
