Hi Folks,
Just adding my experience as an update to what others have previously advised.
Last week I downloaded the maps for my new XT. I subsequently found that there were a lot of hotels cafe's and pubs in my riding areas that are not denoted as a POI on the current map.

I have also found this too and I find it rather frustrating!

Garmin will be left behind because of this IMO

I think i've read some time ago that owner of 'POI's' (hotels, gas stations and so on) which are private and not public have to pay to appear as POI's on the maps...
