may S-No higher then S-No: 7V8022000 will be OK
Pressing hard shouldn't make any difference. The touchscreen is not pressure-sensitive, but capacitive instead.
However, it can make a difference whether you wear gloves or not, and if you do wear gloves, the pressure could reduce the distance between your fingers and the touchscreen
It's been a long time for me, and I hadn't noticed it with the third replacement XT2.
As far as I remember, the XT2 no longer responded to touch. It didn't matter whether I pressed hard or lightly. At first, you have to press and hold for a long time, and then maybe something happens. After that, nothing happened anymore. It's not even possible to turn it off, because you need the touch screen to do that.
Resetting (holding down the physical power button until it restarts) didn't have any positive effect for me either.
But there's one thing I didn't try a long time ago when I had the problems.
Resetting (holding down the physical power button until it restarts) but with a 12 V power supply and the XT2 in the holder and the ignition on!
This should recalibrate the touchscreen and help.
But if you start having problems, try to get a replacement device. Here in Germany, they are very accommodating, at least with older serial numbers.
I don't think it had anything to do with the speed in my case.
Touch did not respond when:
- low to medium rpm
- throttle idle rpm
- ignition off or on and no rpm
- device only in my hand (to test or try it out)
