One more thought on whether Bluetooth should be turned on or off
Personally, I haven’t noticed any preference one way or the other; both approaches have their advantages.
- If there are no synchronization issues at the time,
it definitely can makes sense to have Bluetooth enabled,
then every participant can synchronize step by step, and nothing gets left out.
- If there are currently synchronization issues,
it definitely can makes sense to disable Bluetooth,
so that the current problems don’t pile up.

On the XT2 delete all track, routes, waypoints, collections in the Explore App.
Also delete Where to ->
History
I hadn't thought of that one. Maybe History can keep hold of some trip data and rebuilds a route or track. Though I don't think I had done any searches that were relevant to any of my recent tests. One to consider.
In any case, I do have the Explore app on my phone so can delete from there too if they have had time to migrate.

I think it just keeps the details of places that you have saved, waypoints that you have accessed, or petrol, foursquare, TripAdvisor locations that you have searched for. I don't think that I have ever found a route. But I don't think that deleting a waypoint from the XT2 removes it from the history.
(Not completely sure about that - I'm dragging up information from a good while back).

Had a look at the trips file and sure enough quite a few duplicates so deleted them.
I then noticed that a couple of routes were missing, but that they showed in the Garmin Explore website and in Tread. They did show on the XT2, but on trying to open them, the XT2 said it couldn't calculate a route. Changed the shaping points into a "stop" on Tread, and the XT2 calculated them, and they now show in the trips folder.

My concern is that, over time, every Tread app user who also uses route synchronization will end up with duplicate trips.
Of course, Garmin support and the Garmin developers are exempt from this, because they continue to float in their own little bubble.
In any case, I’d be happy if you gradually became just as aware that this trip with duplicates issue is one of the most fundamental ones.
