Wow!, that's crazy. My original 550 is only using a 4 GB card.
Guess I go through the process - again.

When you connect the Zumo 550 to your computer are you able to use File Explorer to look at the SD card as well as the GPS internal drive?gbyoung2 wrote: Fri Mar 21, 2025 9:00 pm When calculating a route, if it has to go any distance, it goes to a certain %, usually just above 25, then hangs up. a note eventually pops up say that there's not enough memory to complete the route.
The SD card I'm using is an 8 GB, but this sounds more like an internal memory problem. Or is it?
Yes it is, nothing you can do about it except split routes that won't calculate into 2 separate routes.gbyoung2 wrote: Fri Mar 21, 2025 9:00 pm The SD card I'm using is an 8 GB, but this sounds more like an internal memory problem. Or is it?
The below is what I’m seeing and is what I think you’re asking:MSTOCK27370 wrote: Sat Mar 22, 2025 1:36 amWhen you connect the Zumo 550 to your computer are you able to use File Explorer to look at the SD card as well as the GPS internal drive?gbyoung2 wrote: Fri Mar 21, 2025 9:00 pm When calculating a route, if it has to go any distance, it goes to a certain %, usually just above 25, then hangs up. a note eventually pops up say that there's not enough memory to complete the route.

How much free memory do you have on the Zumo internal drive?
the zumo might be using Internal Memory to do route calculations, maybe connect 550 computer and go thru Internal Memory and copy unused files to a new folder on computer, (just to be safe), files like foreign language files and vehicles you don't use, copy those to your computer then delete them on the 550 to make more room for Internal Memory route calculation space, deleting files from zumo Internal Memory can be risky, just be sure its files the 550 doesn't need for functioning operations.gbyoung2 wrote: Sun Mar 23, 2025 4:04 pm
FWIW – if I run a previous route with the SD card removed, it’ll go to about the same % place as before when it craps out for lack of memory.
