When using Garmin Express to install a map to a PC, the map gets installed as if it were a program. As such, it can be removed by uninstalling it in the same way you would uninstall a program. This is the best way to insure that you have a complete reinstall of a map.
I'm struggling with understanding this discussion though. It seems like an attempt is being made to use the map on the XT in Basecamp. Is that even possible?
Also, something was said about checking the routes on the XT by using Basecamp. I wonder if I misunderstand this because we know that Basecamp and the XT are likely to produce different routes if the XT does a calculation, which it will do if it thinks its map is different. Comparison needs to be what the XT produced vs. what Basecamp produced. I don't know of a way to do this with Basecamp since it can't read the .trip file produced by the XT. Is the goal to confirm the route in the XT is the same as what was created in Basecamp?
