@proofresistant I don’t know whether to take you’re very straightforward post as a compliment or not but thank you 🙏 😀.

Please take it as a compliment and motivation to continue posting here actively.
The forum grows from questions and answers, and unlike many other forums, it is a great place here to exchange ideas In a reasonable manner, at least in my opinion.

PS
If I sometimes express myself strangely, I apologize. But keep in mind also that English is not my native language.
I mean it mostly constructively, even if it seems that I am questioning my own or others' writing in order to understand the background.

I knew it! This is on the still current Tread app instructions page.

"zūmo® XT2 Tread App
Using the Route Planner in the Tread App
The Tread® app has the ability to create a multiple-point trip and mark waypoints. Routes and waypoints can be synced with a compatible device via the Tread app.

NOTE: The Tread app must be paired to a compatible device for the Route Planner icon to appear. If the route button is missing, the device will need to be paired in the Tread app."

I knew I'd read this somewhere which is possibly what led me to believe having the routeplanner facility on two devices was not possible. Certainly on my first trial as previously mentioned, it did not appear. So I discarded the idea. Anyway, it works for me now.
