Yepp, same here - as they had tried me two times to take insane re-routings, one of them about 800km! This was at the time of COVID-19, when my Zumo XT thinks, that all boarders between countries in Europe are closed, but they where still open since two weeks!

'Traffic information' off a and all is good - there are other ways to handle with this 'problems', at least for uns bikers...

I'm not sure this is the best place to put this, but it seems a decent place to start asking the question.

I took a motorcycle ride down Hwy 101 from the Seattle area to Palo Alto. On the way down the Zumo XT kept telling me that Hwy 101 was closed and it tried to reroute me. Not a small detour but one that would have me getting to my motel at about 10 pm. Luckily, I stopped and checked my phone for road closures and ignored it.

Then about 10 days later, I'm heading back home on I-5N and it tells me for hours that I-5 is closed.

What gives?

One more thing. My old Zumo XT had started malfunctioning so I bought a refurbished XT from Garmin and was using that. Could it be a problem with the unit? Or with Garmin Drive feeding it bad info?

As i wrote above...

When you have activated 'Traffic information' and some at the source Garmin uses thinks/submitted that the road has a full(!) closure, the Zumo makes a recalculation, nevertheless what your chosen settings for a recalculation are! These must-do-this recalculations are really often a disaster. Garmin says, this is a feature, not a bug...

That's the reason, why for me 'Traffic information' is set the 'Off'

Bad info! I have not taken the drastic step of disabling traffic because I think it has been right more than it has been wrong, but I have a strong skepticism of it. I will also stop and check my phone whenever a closure is surprising and the alternative route is significant.
