On the 395 Stuck in Boot Mode page, there is mention by jfheath ยป 19 Sep 2021 02:06 of some pre-boot menu to get into and firmware fix etc., but no details on how to get there. I did some searching and don't see any other posts that would include this info.
At page two there are detailed instruction with pictures. The timing is off the essence (and pain in the ass, sorry I meant a**)
Read also my comments from page three. I had some different problems than the original writer.
You need a software called "Garmin Cure 3" and the GCD-file (this is the firmware of 395LM).
And a formatting program to format the Garmin device is good to have also, I used the "RMPrepUSB".

These programs and files can be difficult to find. I might have them on one of my PC's.
I'm not sure if I kept them, because next time this Satan-made-stupid-device brokes, I going to use it a shooting target.
I will let you know later.

And therein lies the problem. There seems no way of getting this software, and where would you find the GCD when you have an unresponsive unit?
I come here with an identically stuck 390LM, which I foolishly tried to update with Garmin Express. You know; like you're supposed to do to get your Lifetime Maps.

Yes, I know. Problem is, It's now impossible to access.
Specifically, you need to be registered on gpspower.net in order to access the link. You need to receive an email link to complete registration. The site is no longer providing these links. As far as I can tell, it hasn't been since Feb 2025, going by their Facebook page.

So I'm wondering if it's available anywhere else?>

I've tried signing up at gpspower.net multiple times since 2012. I've used multiple browsers, with and without extensions, different mail providers, even used my VPN to change my apparent location.

Never received the necessary registration email.

Reading your post, I signed up and did receive an email to complete my registration.

Using a Mac in the US over a US VPN connection.
