Hi
Hope all are well.

Just loaded the new maps onto my 660, but the old version is still on the unit for some reason. How do I remove the old maps as they must be taking up space as Express was telling me I had limited room for the new maps?

Many Thanks
Steve P

Thanks for answering as usual.

I have discovered how to delete them from the PC using Control Panel However, I haven't found hw to delete them from the 660. It isn't obvious which are the map files old or new.

The map files end in .img, and will be the largest files of that type. If you post the list here we'll be able to tell you. Map files should be in the Garmin folder on your device, or in a .system folder if the 660 has one?

Garmin Express is not giving the option to install 2021.20 "Full Europe" maps to my Zumo 660 sd card. I'm prompted by GE to select a region (UK & Ireland) which is loaded on to the device's internal memory. I always update both the device & PC at the same time. My PC has BaseCamp on it which appears to have the "Full Europe" maps installed. I've leant how to transfer maps from BC using MapInstall to my device, this works but is not ideal. I've contacted Garmin several times and they haven't yet come up with a solution other than try a new sd card or buy a new sat. nav. The sd card will receive info. from my PC so, presumably it's ok. I don't want to buy a new sat. nav.

Please can anyone help to resolve this matter, thank you.

Did you load "Full Europe" maps to a sd card or just a region to the device internal memory.

Garmin have come back with, "there are device limitations due to the age of the unit, we do not future proof devices and technology becomes outdated".

Whilst I've got map version 2021.20 NT (Full Europe) on my PC via Basecamp, decided to have a go using MapInstall to transfer most of the Europe maps to the sd card within the device, seems to be downloading ok at the moment. Since Garmin have screwed up the software, this is now the only option available to myself.

Well Garmin haven't screwed up the software but a bit like Windows eventually certain older devices won't work as before. However your 660 will continue to be eligible for lifetime updates and the full map can still be installed albeit with some manual intervention.
