Zumo XT/Garmin Tread Mounts

It appears that the XT and the new Tread may have the same mount. Does anyone know for sure that you can use the Tread on a Zumo Motorcycle powered mount. Would like to use the Tread in the SXS and put a Zumo powered motorcycle mount on the bike.

The two units appear to use the identical hardware, so I would expect that they can use the same mount. The XT power connector, which is sold separately, only provides connection to the +5 volt and ground pins. Some of the extra features of the Tread may require extra pins.

That is what I thought. I only need the power pins for the motorcycle.

Since the Tread Group Ride Mount is compatible with the Zumo XT, I would assume that the XT Mount and the Tread Mount utilize the same pins for power, and the extra pins on the Tread Mount are for the extra features like the Group Ride communications. What I don't know, is whether or not the Tread looks for connectivity to those additional pins as part of it's start-up procedure and if it would cause some kind of boot-up issue on an XT mount.

Garmin support would surely be able to answer that question for you.
