New Garmin Zumo XT

Post by Stu »

I have seen whispers of a ne device coming in the shape of the Zumo XT

Its a 5.5 inch display apparently but that is all the information I can find on it at the moment!

Even clicking on it on the website just brings up a 404 error page!

It looks very BMW navigator like!

I wonder if they are going to produce one unit that will just pop in to the BMW's!

More screen less border seems to be the goal currently. I wonder if this will hammer the prices of the 595?

Are you talking new prices or used?

mind to be fair it will lower both as people will more than likely upgrade and sell the older ones

Had an email today showing Zumo 595 for £349. Wondered if there was a new model. Hope they sorted the batteries out.

Tried that. It helped a bit for a while, but it won't hokld it's charge for more than a few seconds. Every time I turn it on I end starting at the beginning of my playlist again. Even had to reset my preferences once.

Having tried the connector fix a few times - which has some immediate effect but doesn't last - I bit the bullet and bought a new battery from Garmin.

Result. The battery has never lasted as long as this without being connected. Still nowhere near as good as the 660, but much more usable when out of the cradle.

Today, I discovered something really important. I found another way that doesn't work.
