Express only coneects 1/2 the time

Express only connects to my zumoXT about 1/2 the time (or less). This is very inconvenient.

I am using the Garmin supplied USB cord. And it's very much hit-or-miss whether Express recognizes my zumo is attached. I have deleted and reinstalled Express at least twice. I have removed my zumo and added back into Express at least three times. Any ideas?

I don't have anything to recommend for a solution but will say that sometimes my XT is never recognized by Garmin Express, but nowhere near as frequently as 50%. When it does connect, connection time vary greatly, frequently taking several minutes. I normally start GE then attach the XT. Avoid running Basecamp and GE at the same time.

SEVERAL MINUTES!? I thought the Germans were supposed to be superior engineers? Apparently this does not extend to software. Okay, next trial I will plug-in the zumo, start GE, and walk away for a while. I did read somewhere about not running GE and GB at the same time. Seems supremely stupid to me that their own apps won't talk to each other nicely.

Actually, the time variation I see is in two places. The time it takes for the XT to be recognized by my PC varies a lot, and the time it take for GE to then recognize that the XT is connected varies a lot.

You may want to test whether you get better results by starting GE and then connecting the XT, versus the other way around. I start GE first, but I don't recall whether that is because it seemed to be more reliable, or whether it is just is how my brain and workflow works.
