@CollingsBob One more question:

What exactly did you do, and where?
  • What do you see in the Tread app?
  • What do you actually see on the Zumo XT3 device?

I'm not quite sure where or how you saw the following >
I have a whole collection of .gpx files in “collections” in my Zumo XT3, but cannot figure out how to load one..
and
Ok…a small step. I discovered that the labels for the .gpx files were in the garmin, but not the files.

Could you post a few screenshots (Steps during your workflow)?
1st where you found content like you decribed 1st posts
and also last posts, because I've never seen it the way you described; I can always do more, and I already had access to the routes before i came to this menue
(as you remember, these aren't the GPX files, but only the imported content)
"When I do locate Collections it is found by selecting “Route Planner”, then clicking on the stacked squares in the top right hand corner, then I see Collections..
I can then see the various .gpx files - Day 1, Day 2 etc…with a box that I can put a tick mark in to select that file..but I cannot find a way to do anything with that route.."

I use MyRoute App for creation..
All of the files look ok in that App…and I have saved them in the correct format..and I used that program to create and load gpx files for the BMW Connected Ride Navigator..

I have done a complete reset on the Garmin…three times.
When I tap the sync arrows in Tread..they rotate, but only about 5 times..
I am going to try saving the files to a sd card…but I note that when I put a fresh card in the unit, it did not ask me if I wanted to format it.

and I have saved them in the correct format
Which format did you use gpx 1.1 or 1.2?
Did you save as a route, as a track, or both?

If you could share one of your files, I'll take a look at it and try to import it to my XT2.
You can either post here or send me a PM.

Ok…I read all of your suggestions..and I thank each and every one of you for taking the time to respond.
I saved all of the gpx files in .gpx 1.1 Here/Garmin format onto a sd card..and put the card into the Garmin..
Voila..the Garmin imported the files…all 26 of them - I had saved the Routes as Routes, not tracks..
I still can’t figure out how to load 1 .gpx file at a time into the GPS so that I can follow the created route. I can find the route in Collections, and I can select one, but I cannot load it.
I note that I have never encountered a BlueTooth device that needed to be re-taught it’s BT connection, several times before…

Try to use the zumo XT3's built-in route planner far - 1st plan, 2nd save, and 3rd finaly retrieve/open - a simple, short route.
Please.

not the file, the route.
Sorry, but the deeper we dig to find the problem, the more important it is that we use the correct terms together.

But now, next step: can you open the route now and start the navigation?

Then, could you create a collection
and assign the route to it?
