Trying to install purchased map

Post by Jeffreygebler »

I have a refurbished XT2 unit that I purchased in Australia.
It does not have North America maps installed.
I purchased the map and it is showing on Garmin Express under the purchased icon. It says that it is ready to activate. It then is asking to install directly onto the microSD card.
I have then started the download and 90 minutes later it tells me that the download is complete.
When I go onto manage maps it is not showing up.
As I am competing in a 6 day rally in the states at the end of the month I really need the use of this map and Basecamp for routing.
I am feeling quite frustrated as I have done all of this previously on my 590's and my XT without any difficulties.
Thank you so much in advance for any help in this matter.

Thank you for reading my last post but need to let you know that I found the solution through Google research.
This should have been done before I posted my original question.

Glad you got it working!

But there's one thing I dont understand. As far as I know the XT2 allows you to download maps for all continents. Did you really need to buy your map?

That's only if you have the Travel Edition version.

I've searched many times, but I have never been able to find a Zumo "Travel Edition" here in the U.S. If it were not mentioned repeatedly in this forum, I would doubt such a thing exists. It is very doubtful I would ever need any more than the default North American map, but if I did, I would just load up a free OSM map.
