On my Win 7 laptop, I've just uninstalled express 6.15.0 and reinstalled an older version (6.3.0)
unfortunately, on startup, express wanted to update to 6.15.0 and wouldn't let me continue without
doing. Needless to say, the result was the same, no maps on computer. It was worth a try though,
and may be different with Win 10, but,in my case, since that gets used very infrequently I'll leave it for now.

I have the same problems with both a 550 and a 660. My computer is running Win 10 and all the software is up to date (Garmin Express and unit software). In each case I can download to the unit but not to either unit + PC or to PC Only. I have spent around 30 minutes talking to Garmin support in the UK and sent them a software report. They have agreed there is a problem and have raised a trouble ticket with Garmin USA so it will be some time before they get to work on it given the time difference.

I was told to expect a reply from Garmin USA by email when they had investigated. I will report back here the outcome.

It's only the NT version too, the NTU map downloads to a computer without issue.

Agreed; I downloaded the NTU maps to the PC only a while ago when they were first released without any problems.

Express is telling me that both my Z660 and Nuvi are up to date. Both were showing updates available last week when I looked :?

So I still have received no notification from Garmin but I have just tried downloading CN Europe NT 2020.1 to computer only with my Zumo 550 connected and it seems to be working. I will report back if I get a reply from Garmin support,

John

P.S. Downloading just finished and all looks good!

Interesting, just checked Express and both my units show updates available.
Presumably, Garmin must have found a bug and (hopefully) fixed it.

I too have an old unit (550) and newer units so have always downloaded NT (when available) and NTU to the PC on the assumption that planning in Basecamp is better on the map appropriate to and consistant with the unit I will use. I am sure I read that somewhere and it makes sense.
Is this still the case or can planning just be done on the PC NTU version for all machines; as long as it is the same year/version of course?
