WiFi problems
WiFi problems
Hi
This is my first post, unfortunately it's regarding an issue with my Zumo XT2.
I got my XT2 for Christmas and followed the start-up process with any issues, I got a new phone that was compatible with the tread app and paired it to my Zumo.
I also had a map undate to do while pairing, however! Idon't have WiFi connection and the screen is blank on searching for WiFi.
I've manually inputed my WiFi details and password but it will not connect, WiFI has been enabled but can't select saved networks and noting shows on search for networks even with the Zumo sat beside the router?
Does anyone know how to fix this please, it's doing my head in.

Re: WiFi problems
May the same problem like my.
5 GHz wouldn't supported.
May 2,4 GHz WiFi enable in your Router helps.

Re: WiFi problems
Welcome to the forum @Swifty22
I have not experienced this, nor do I remember anyone else posting about it. Not much help, sorry.
Perhaps your XT2 has a WiFi hardware problem? Hardware failures "out of the box" are rare but they can happen. Garmin Product Support is generally good about dealing with hardware issues. Product.Support@Garmin.com
You can do map and software updates by connecting the XT2 to a computer with a USB cable and use the Garmin Express software on the computer.

Re: WiFi problems
Do not use 5G wifi, use 2.4G, 1st test with your router to make sure that it is working on 2.4G

Re: WiFi problems
for the Garmin XT2...
USA: 5 GHz Wi-Fi is supported.
Europe: 5 GHz is not supported for Wi-Fi, meaning European users must use a 2.4 GHz connection

Re: WiFi problems
This explains my observation, or rather my unsuccessful attempt to use 5 GHz Wi-Fi, even though 5 GHz Wi-Fi is described in the Garmin specifications.twowheelstom wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:48 pm for the Garmin XT2...

@Swifty22 ,
can you also confirm that you only see 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi on the zumo?
Or do you also see 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

Re: WiFi problems
One more question: where does the information “Europe: 5 GHz is not supported” come from, or where can I read it?twowheelstom wrote: Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:48 pm for the Garmin XT2...
