BMW R1200RS
Bought her back in May 2024. with 65k mi / 108k km on the odomoter.
I've been using her nonstop for weekend tours worth around 300mi/450km weekend tours. Twisties in the Belgian & French Ardennes. Swiss and Italian alps, this thing just flies trough it with ease! I've grown very fond of the boxer engine. It sounds like a bag of nails rattling in a bucket. But the torque and low center of gravity is suprisingly fun.
!
Small modifications i did to make her somewhat more comfortable:
swapped the OEM bars for Wunderlich handlebar, makes the position more upright and tour like.
Wunderlich bracket that puts the OEM nav above the dashboard.
Replaced OEM bags with narrow SW motech Blaze bags (factory ones were way too big for my style of riding)
Things i don't really like on this bike:
The OEM wheels... They're quite soft and dent pretty easily, making for VERY expensive replacements. A pothole can get costly fast.
The black engine paint is very prone to flaking.
Keyless ride's fuel tank flap. It loves to jam and requires lubrication often. Replacement is very costly!
Headlights... If they just added a bit of chrome to make them look synmetrical. How it has a face only a mother could love.
Comming from mainly large japanese sport tourers and nakeds. The Germans have won me over!
My next one will probably be a GS(road version, not GSA) or 1250RS.
