Re: Zumo XT3 and XT3s are introduced
Sorry for the off topic ... Will this be off topic?
I'm considering buying a Tread 2, the XT2 is sold.
The Tread 2 has faster hardware and bigger internal storage, like the XT3.
The Tread 2 has vehicle profiles like the XT3.
The Tread 2 has cable splitter for remote control, the XT3 doesn't. Why?
I don't need the tilt meter and the paid LapTimer for the circuit. The Tread 2 probably wins for me.

the new Zumo XT3s Compact 4.7 inch looks appealing to me, I will probably do some research on that one.

After testing the Tread 2 for two months, I think they've made the most of the hardware for this XT3. I'm sure that, like the Tread 2, the zoom will be smoother, and it will sync much faster than the XT2.
Aside from that, I don't see any major changes, and as @jfheath says, the problem of route corruption with the Tread app seems likely to persist.
From the very beginning, 3 years ago, it was clear to me that the XT2 lacked the processor power required for what was demanded of it, and this is clearly visible when zooming with the remote control (black areas on the map that take a long time to load) and when it freezes and restarts when it has to synchronize a few collections.

Re: Zumo XT3 and XT3s are introduced
I originally subscribed to this site for help as a new satnav user with an XT. I come back to continue learning and to contribute when I can, but also for the fun and comradery. I am not a people person but if this group ever got together socially, and I was invited, I would look forward to attending.

Re: Zumo XT3 and XT3s are introduced
maybe I can refer to the new models as,
XT3 = 6.0 inch
XT3s = 4.7 inch compact size, the s for smaller size

Re: Zumo XT3 and XT3s are introduced
Based on the announcement of the new Garmin zūmo XT3 (4.7-inch and 6-inch models), the mounts for the original zūmo XT and the zūmo XT3 are generally considered compatible. The core motorcycle mount hardware—including the bracket and power cable—used for the original zūmo XT remains compatible with the new zūmo XT3 series.
Here are the key details regarding the mount compatibility:
Compatibility: The Garmin zūmo XT and XT3 (including the 4.7-inch model) appear to use identical mounting hardware, including the charging cradle.
Mounting System: The XT3 series, including the 4.7-inch, uses the same standard Garmin AMPS pattern for mounting.
Power Cable: The power cable, which connects the device to the motorcycle battery, is generally compatible across these units (XT to XT3).
Note for Upgrade: While the physical,, plastic mount is the same, if you are upgrading from an older unit to a newer one, some users prefer to use the newer, updated wiring harness for better efficiency, though the old one will still work.
