Good evening. Updated software and maps with no hiccups and am on my first lesson to learn Trip Manager.

1) I created a list with 7 POIs and 2 routes (containing the POIs and 8 shaping points.

2) Exported the list in a folder in my desktop.

3) Connected device and opened Trip Manager.

4) Selected the .gpx file from the top right box and clicked Send to.

5) Ticked Trips, Tracks, Way points and Add original Way points and clicke OK.

6) info in .gpx transferred to device in top left box.

7) Disconnected device and powered it up.

8) Opened Routes on device and clicked one of the routes. But this message came up: Maps used to create this route was not found on the device. Recalculate and save a new route using currently available maps? Choosing No takes you back, choosing Yes recalculates Route BUT although all Shaping and Via points stood their ground, route was definitely recalculated through different streets. This happened with both routes. Process was repeated multiple times with same result. What am I doing wrong? I have planned routes on Basecamp with THE SAME maps on device and to be extra sure plotted them on maps on device rather than the same maps installed on desktop. EDIT: forgot to say that device is set on Fastest calculation

8) On power up I was also asked to import and I chose OK. I think that imported tracks and points.

I am sure I am doing something wrong. Can s.one point me in the right direction, please?

TIA

I see you have 'recalculation forced' set in the Send to dialog. Set it to 'not forced'.

If that does not help, can you post the GPX?

Thanks Frankb!

I have done some preliminary planning with NO recalculation forced (Basecamp calculated GPX only). On powering up the XT2 and choosing routes message "Maps used to create this route cannot be found on this device. recalculate and save a new route using currently available maps?" was not displayed.

I am trying to write down the workflow and taking screenshots so I can pinpoint where I am doing it wrong/right. Still A LOT of learning but for now thanks once more to the incredible work and help on this forum!

Just what I was looking for! Will go through documentation and do some experimenting. How can I tell which version of Trip Manager I am using, if I may ask?

Click on Help/About. Look for Fileversion

The latest release is V1.6.0.345.
The Documentation is being updated for V1.7.0.xxx that is not yet released. I expect to release that in a few weeks.

Oh yes. Forgot to mention. @smfollen has written an excellent users guide, that is targeted at the XT2. (Your model)

Apologies if this question has already been asked but could not find anything about my query with Search. Been reading the documentation and created GPX folder on SD card.

On the Top-Left corner select the preset you want to change (GPX, POI)
Navigate to the SD Card folder. (zūmo XT\Memory Card\Garmin\GPX)
Click on Set as Default.

Do I need to create another folder named POI [zumo XT\Memory Card\Garmin\POI] to set it as the default destination folder for the POI (Gpi)? Or set as default the folder GPX for the POIs?

First of all, I think you have an XT2. So it will be zūmo XT2\...

You dont have to do anything to use the default location: zūmo XT2\Internal Storage\POI. It should work. The only problem is that there are already some pre-installed files there, and you might delete them by mistake.
So, if you have an SD Card installed it will be better to store them in zūmo XT2\Memory Card\Garmin\POI. If you decide to do that you have to make sure the directory exists and use the 'Set Default' button.
An other option is to create a sub-directory (zūmo XT2\Internal Storage\POI\Custom, zūmo XT2\Memory Card\Garmin\POI\Custom for example) The Zumo should find the files there.

And of course the folder will only be used when you tick 'Point Of Interest (.gpi)' in Send To

I dont know if that works, but I would not recommend it. Will be confusing.
