Weird behaviour this week only on one route of four. The attached images flashed up repeatedly, returning the screen to the map only restarted the cycle. Stopping the route returned normality briefly, then the cycle began again.
Note on the direction page no speed, distance or route is shown.
Luckily we were very close to our destination, so not a major problem.
Any ideas?

Re: More weird behaviour
I suspect this might be a grease spot on one part of the screen. It recognises grease marks as a finger press, so sometimes it can get into a 3 display cycle eg with a grease spot in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Clean the screen with eg alcohol, or soapy water and wipe it dry. Then check your motorcycle glove fingers.
Nb - Garmin recommend isopropyl alcohol, eyeglass cleaner, eyeglass cloth or water.
In the XT2 manual they state a soft, clean, lint free cloth and maybe dampen with water.
It might also be raindrops. You can lock the screen by holding down the power button for a few seconds. You then get the option to power off, or lock the screen. If you have the handlebar controller, you can program one of their buttons to lock/unlock the screen.

Re: More weird behaviour
Awhile ago I posted about a ghosting occurrence with my XT. It was as if an invisible finger was randomly touching and swiping the screen. I was two hours into a ride when it started. A reboot fixed it and it hasn't happened since, although I have not ridden much since it happened. Rain was not a factor. Garmin support said to remove the protective/anti-glare film that I had on it, which I did, however that film had been on it for over ten thousand miles so I don't think the film caused the issue.
