Route Duration

Post by m185945 »

When I start a route, after my Triumph starts moving, then on the right hand side of the Zumo screen is a temporary summary of the route including the predicted duration. The data is viewable only for about 15 seconds.

I use Google Maps and Basecamp to develop routes. They both provide estimated durations, but neither estimate is close to reality.

Of these three sources of route duration (GM, BC, Zumo), the temporary summary on the Zumo is the most accurate; however, I cannot take a picture of this data while moving. Regarding this Zumo temporary accurate route duration figure, do you know if there is another way (another screen) to view the duration without the bike moving? If yes then I would be most grateful if you could describe the steps.

I thank you in advance.

I can relate to that. Try MRA (MyRouteApp) and you will get another prediction. Try different maps (OpenStreetMap) and again the figures are different. But it is only a prediction!

On the XT click on Settings/Display. Scroll down to Screenshot and tick that.
You will get a 'Camera' at the Top-Right corner. Clicking that will take a screenshot.
These Screenshot can be obtained by connecting the XT to your computer and looking in the folder 'Internal Storage\ScreenShot' (or similar)

Using the GPS Simulator.
Settings/Navigation.
Scroll down to GPS Simulator and tick that.
Start a route. The XT will ask you if it should simulate the route.

On the map click on the Bottom-Right corner.
Now you can choose the Data Field the XT should display.
The ETA should be there.

If you're a Windows user have a look at TripManager viewtopic.php?t=3150
It can show you for all your trips loaded on the XT the 'Total Duration Time' calculated.

Just tap the current Speed on the map screen. The XT will switch to the trip computer page showing time and distance to the destination, arrival time, distance to next turn, etc.

I use the Elevation one often. And any of these can be selected as the "permanent" display on the map screen to replace the normally shown "Time of Arrival at Destination"
