Has anyone installed the zumo R1 Radar device on their motorcycle? What are your opinions?

Re: zumo R1 Radar
I cannot think of anything that a radar can do for my riding that I cannot do better for myself.
For me that would be a distraction - I have such technology in the car. It is a pain, and it gets it wrong, which means that I have learned to ignore it.
So no, I haven’t got one, but I have an opinion. On top of that, it’s Garmin. What could possibly go wrong ?

Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !
Links: Zumo 590s . Zumo XT & BC . Zumo Navigation Booklet . Zumo XT2

I've seen it on a demo bike, it was neat!
But for the absurd pricepoint for the radar,ontop of the already quite expensive XT2...
You're better just looking backwards or in the mirrors that are included with your motorcycle.

Re: zumo R1 Radar
Agree with both answers. Plus there are less expensive add-on radars available. Even with blind spot monitoring in one of our cars, I always verify with a head check. Would be even more mandatory on the bike.
