Permanent red route?

Post by Norden901 »

I've had my XT2 about a year, but a couple months ago I went on my longest trip yet. I calculated a route (in four parts) and saved it in my collections.
I'm not sure what I did different, but the entire route is now permanently on my map (or any other route I select) in red and I can't figure out how to remove it (or what I did to cause it). Anyone had this problem?

I'll guess that you need to deselect the collection so that its not in you map layers anymore. I don't have my XT2 with me so can't give you the exact steps required, sorry.

Routes do not show on the map unless they are active, and you can only have one route active (ie running) at any one time. When they do show, they are always magenta coloured - ie purple ish.

I think that what you can see are tracks. Tracks can be any colour and will show up on the map if the collection that they are in is set to visible.

Normally you would have a collection which contains routes, tracks and waypoints for one day. Then for each day, turn all collections off except the one for the current day.

Try that. If it is still showing, then check what data you have in the visible collection. It is very easy to have one track in more than one collection, or in the wrong collection. If so - remove it from the collection. Don’t delete it. Any tracks that do not belong to any collection, will show up in ‘Unorganised’.

I put together some pages on collections - XT2-P330
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !

I think that you can adjust the route colour using the jawaNL programme. I know that I've messed about in the programme to get the magenta route more visible.

Hi and welcome.

Do you get spoken instructions when using the red "route"?
