Hello Zumo users.
I am a Newbie who just turned 62 yesterday - that's the whole New Old Guy thing. I have been riding motorcycles on and off road for over 40 years, the same Harley Fatboy for the last 32 years. The only electronics I ever had turned the bike on, turned the lights on, and honked the horn. I retired last year and bought a 24 Harley Pan Am CVO and I love it. I have three decades of technology to learn to include this Zumo XT2 addition. I got the very basics down to navigate around and I really dig the big screen.
A preliminary advancement I would like to make is route planning or ride planning. First and foremost can I get the Tread app on my PC. I need a magnifying glass to read my phone not to mention I have sausage fingers.
Harley has there version of a ride planner and it is actually very good. I can bring it up on my PC to create and save rides. But it relies on the Cell Ph Ride App to function and I have experienced interruptions. Plus the map display minimizes the speedo and tach; I like having both displays
Looking forward to communicating with Ya'll

Hello @BobbyD, welcome to the forum from North Carolina. You will find valuable help here, especially when asking specific questions in the appropriate forum. BTW, you're a young guy at 62. I wish I was still 62, although that would mean that I would still be working. I'm loving retirement too much for that.

Thank You guys for the welcome. I really dig these forums. I belong to one for my Pan America Harley, one for Harley Shovelhead motor, and one for my old Corvette. Forums are a great resource and I have used them extensively especially rehabbing my Vette and my Shovelhead chopper project.
I will navigate the forum for the correct section to educate myself on creating routes / ride planning.

Re: New Old Guy From Los Angeles, CA
I didn't answer your question.
No - the Tread App cannot be used on a PC.
The good news is that BAsecamp still works and other programs that create gpx files.
I have just started putiing together a series of pages on the forum - simple steps in getting a route to work on the XT2.
Garmin have really produced a beast of a solution for the XT2. So far it has screwed up every route that I have tried to create with it.
Allowing the Tread App to synchronise with the XT2 is (as far as I am concerned) a recipe for disaster. It shifts route points; it moves routes onto nearby faster roads; it changes the name of your locations; and if you dare to ignore its instrctions it will forever try to take you back to the place where you left the route. The dreaded RUT behaviour.
But we know how to make it behave.
Give me a few days and keep on eye on this link - Section 4. It's empty right now, but it will build up over the next few days.
