I now believed that the XT2 did not store waypoints and tracks locally in files, but in the database.
Regardless of whether the zumo XT2 ever had an Explore connection or not.
Then I came across your question, “Do you want to know for sure?”
I thought, yes, I want to know.
I tested it.
- I reset the zumo XT2 to factory settings and deleted old data.
- In BC, I transferred routes, trips, and waypoints to the XT2 (without an SD card).
- Then was the Temp.GPX in the gpx Folder.
- I powerd on the device.
- The WPs were imported automatically right away.
- All tracks were imported, even though I only selected one track.
- The routes were imported as I had selected them.
- I reconnected the XT2 to the PC.
- In BC, I only saw the WPs and routes, and only those were in the current.gpx.
- I deleted all gpx files from the device gpx folder.
- The result was:
that after starting the device, even without gpx files, all routes, waypoints and tracks were still there.
They were stored in the explore db and the trips.
