The USB C connection to the PC (incl. power supply) was and is stable and always flawless and an inconsistent "current.gpx" problem as far as I remember, completely independent of whether BC is currently running or not.
I have often found that my USB conencted device - usually a Zumo - is no longer visible in Windows File Explorer. The Zumo isn't complaining, but the Internal Storage or the SD card are no longer showing up. If yours doesn't that must be a jfheath related issue. It's not a problem, I just reconnect. The XT2 fires up very quickly (in comparison to other Zumos).

I had also noticed that data often could not be re-imported.
My workaround from then on was to always import tracks and or route GPX files via the SD card. Tracks and/or route GPX files saved on the SD card can so be imported multiple times.
Yes - I should havementioned that, but forgot. I did check that out. The downside is that it doesn't import the tracks and waypoints automatically. It has to be done manually - and then you run the risk of accidentally importing them twice !!

This is a completely new aspect.
If the connection to the PC also works much faster, this would be a really useful added value :-)
Yet another reason to make the TripManager a mandatory part of my future workflow ;-)
Well it also works faster because in Trip Manager files there are no ghost points - the XT2 has to calculate from scratch from the route points that are given. But the track that Frank has created by taking the cooridnates for every single point in the original route - including the ghost points. If I understand that correctly. So it is easy to do the comparison to see how well the XT2 has done.
Since my tests with the TM routes, if stray away from the route - recalculation ahead has usually been quite rapid. Alway much sooner than the tipping point (where it is faster to continue ahead, rather than go back).

I have noticed before with the XT that if you send a gpx v1.1 GPX route from MyRouteApp - it imports and loads much faster than a Basecamp route.
MRA v1.1 files have no ghost points. MRA v1.2 files have the ghost points, but no shaping points.

(I would have to do some advertising for you in the German forum, if they have problems, they will ask for help and get many answers here (from others here too, of course))
Yes do - there are lots of people on here that can give advice. I've been commenting on the facebook pages every now and then when I see some poor soul desperate for an answer. All s/he is getting is a load of incorrect information, or a 'Do what I do' with no explanation.

I know a lot of people from a UKGSers site that I sometimes visit are also members here. I know this 'cos I keep seeing stuff that I've written reproduced on their site. That's Ok. But It's good to have people like you keeping me on my toes too. I have a nasty habit of writing what I know from memory - and my memory is not as good as it used to be. Or it is not as good as I remember it used to be - which isn't quite the same thing !!
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !
